Opulent Fragrance was not born in a luxury atelier. It was born in a moment of curiosity.

I am Lelo Mashatile, co-founder of Opulent Fragrance.

It started as an experiment during a career transition — something to try, something that might make money while I figured out my next move. I stumbled into a market that was already crowded. Plenty of people sell fragrance dupes. But talk to anyone who buys them and you hear the same complaints — "the scent fades within an hour", "the projection is weak", "it just does not perform the way the original does".

That bothered me.

I did not want to just sell another dupe. I wanted someone who walks into the most expensive perfume boutiques in the world — someone who pays R5 000 for a fragrance without blinking — to smell my version and wonder why they ever paid that much. I wanted to close the gap not just in price but in quality.

So I spent nearly two years doing exactly that. Mixing, testing, adjusting, starting over. Understanding why fragrances behave differently on different skin types. Learning the science of longevity and projection. Refining every formula until it performed the way premium fragrance should — all day, every day, on every skin type.
